Coming to DVD next Tuesday, February 25: MUSCLE SHOALS

Greg “Freddy” Camalier’s tribute to the influential Alabama recording studios had its world premiere at Sundance last year. It went on to screen at SXSW, Nantucket, Atlantic, Melbourne, Seattle, Maui, Nashville, and Hot Docs, where it won an Audience Award.

Coming to VOD tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18: THE MOO MAN

Andy Heathcote and Heike Bachelier’s day in the life of a British dairy farm made its world premiere at Sundance last year. It went on to screen at Berlin, Sheffield, True/False, and Los Angeles, and was nominated for a British Independent Film Award. The doc now becomes available on iTunes.

Coming to DVD next Tuesday, February 11: PUSSY RIOT – A PUNK PRAYER

Mike Lerner and Maxim Pozdorovkin’s look at the famed Russian activist group had its world premiere at Sundance last year, taking home a special jury prize. It went on to screen at True/False, SXSW, Hot Docs, Sydney, and Full Frame, among others, before its broadcast on HBO.

Coming to DVD tomorrow, Tuesday, February 4: CUTIE AND THE BOXER

Zachary Heinzerling’s look at marriage, compromise, and art had its world premiere at Sundance a year ago, where he won the doc directing award. It went on to screen at True/False, San Francisco, Tribeca, and Karlovy Vary, among others, and to be nominated for the Best Documentary Oscar.

Coming to DVD tomorrow, Tuesday, February 4: BLOOD BROTHER

Steve Hoover’s profile of an American man devoted to HIV+ Indian orphans debuted at Sundance last year, winning the best doc jury and audience awards. It went on to screen at Nantucket, Thessaloniki Doc, Heartland, Milwaukee, Big Sky, Little Rock, and New Zealand, among others.

Coming to PBS’s POV this coming Monday, February 3: AMERICAN PROMISE

Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson’s thirteen-year look at black male academic achievement debuted at Sundance last year, where it won a special jury award. It went on to screen at the New York Film Festival, Full Frame, and Hot Springs, among others, before its theatrical release.

Coming to NYC’s Film Forum this Wednesday, January 29: CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO

Robert Berger and Karlyn Michelson’s experimental black box-based airline emergency film debuted at Sundance last year. It also went on to screen at the New York Film Festival, DocPoint, AFI Fest, CPH:DOX, and Hamptons.
