Special Screening: JOAN RIVERS: A PIECE OF WORK
Coming to NYC’s Maysles Cinema as part of Filmwax’s Docularious series next Wednesday, December 19: JOAN RIVERS: A PIECE OF WORK
Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg’s surprisingly honest profile of the acerbic comedienne premiered at Sundance in 2010, claiming an editing award. After a healthy festival run, the film performed very well upon theatrical release.

Julia Ivanova’s portrait of a Ukrainian woman and her biracial foster children premiered at last year’s Sundance. It went on to screen at the Hamptons, Vancouver, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Hot Docs, among others.

Ra’Anan Alexandrowicz’s exploration of law under occupation premiered at Jerusalem last year before coming stateside to win Sundance’s World Cinema jury prize this past January. It took home additional awards at Full Frame and Hot Docs.
