Coming to DVD next Tuesday, July 26: THE RUSSIAN WOODPECKER

Chad Gracia’s investigation into the truth behind Chernobyl had its world premiere at Sundance last year, where it won the World Cinema Documentary Grand Jury Prize. Screenings followed at Nantucket, BAMcinemaFest, AFI Docs, Milwaukee, Zurich, and Sydney, among others.

Coming to theatres and to VOD tomorrow, Friday, July 22: THE BLACKOUT EXPERIMENTS

Rich Fox’s exploration of an infamous horror experience made its debut at Sundance this year. It has screened at genre/horror events since, and now becomes available through Gravitas.

Coming to DVD tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19: OJ: MADE IN AMERICA

Ezra Edelman’s expansive look at OJ Simpson had its world premiere at Sundance this year. The film also screened at Hot Docs, Tribeca, and the Freep Film Festival before its broadcast debut last month.

Coming to Made in New York Media Center as part of IFP Screen Forward starting tomorrow, Friday, July 15: HOOLIGAN SPARROW

Nanfu Wang’s profile of an embattled human rights activist premiered at Sundance earlier this year. The film has gone on to screen at Nantucket, Hot Docs, Full Frame, Sheffield, Cleveland, Human Rights Watch, Nashville, Dallas, One World, Thessaloniki Doc, Los Angeles Asian Pacific, Documenta Madrid, Encounters, and the upcoming Traverse City fests.

Coming to PBS’s POV tonight, Monday, July 11: PERVERT PARK

Frida Barkfors and Lasse Barkfors’ look at a community of sex offenders had its premiere at CPH:DOX in 2014. Screenings followed at Sundance, BAMcinemaFest, Hot Docs, Dokufest, New Zealand, Sarasota, San Francisco Doc Fest, and Minneapolis, among other fests.

Coming to theatres tomorrow, Friday, July 8: NORMAN LEAR: JUST ANOTHER VERSION OF YOU

Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady’s portrait of the small screen pioneer debuted at Sundance at the beginning of the year. Further fest play has included Nantucket, Hot Docs, Seattle, Montclair, Palm Beach, AFI Docs, True/False, Miami, Sarasota, RiverRun, Biografilm, and the upcoming Traverse City, Woods Hole, San Francisco Jewish, and Martha’s Vineyard fests.

Brian Oakes’ chronicle of the life and death of the American journalist had its world premiere at Sundance this year, where it won the US Documentary Audience Award. Other fest screenings include New Zealand, East End, Telluride Mountainfilm, Newport, and True/False.

Roger Ross Williams’ profile of an autistic man’s awakening through Disney animated films made its bow at Sundance this year, winning the US Documentary Directing Award. Festival screenings have also included Nantucket, True/False, Hot Docs, Tribeca, Full Frame, Montclair, San Francisco, DocAviv, Transilvania, Sundance London, Los Angeles, Sheffield, and Sydney, among others.
