Coming to PBS’s Independent Lens tonight, Monday, June 20: TRAPPED

Dawn Porter’s exploration of the bureaucratic war on abortion providers had its world premiere at Sundance earlier this year, where it picked up a special jury prize. In addition to scores of community screenings, the doc has also appeared at SXSW, Miami, Athena, Martha’s Vineyard, Ashland, and Montclair, and has also been released theatrically.

Coming to NYC’s Rooftop Films this Thursday, June 16 and to theatres this Friday, June 17: TICKLED

David Farrier and Dylan Reeve’s investigation into a stranger-than-fiction web fetish made its debut at Sundance this year. Screenings have followed at True/False, Cleveland, Sarasota, San Francisco, Hot Docs, Montclair, Seattle, Sydney, Auckland, and the upcoming Nantucket Film Festival.

Ezra Edelman’s in-depth look at the infamous celebrity athlete-turned-murder suspect made its debut at Sundance earlier this year. It also screened at Hot Docs, Tribeca, and the Freep Film Festival.

New to DVD this week: NO NO: A DOCKUMENTARY

Jeffrey Radice’s look back at an infamous baseball player debuted at Sundance in 2014. The doc went on to screen at SXSW, Montclair, Dallas, Sidewalk, San Francisco, and Florida, among other fests.

Chris Hegedus and DA Pennebaker’s chronicle of a crusade to recognize the legal rights of animals debuted at Sundance earlier this year. Festival berths followed at Hot Docs, Full Frame, Sarasota, Minneapolis/St Paul, Montclair, Visions du Réel, DocAviv, and the upcoming New Zealand, Melbourne, and deadCENTER.

Frida Barkfors and Lasse Barkfors’ intimate profile of an outsider enclave debuted at CPH:DOX in 2014. It went on to screen at Sundance, where it won a special jury award, as well as at BAMcinemaFest, Hot Docs, Dokufest, New Zealand, Sarasota, San Francisco Doc Fest, and Minneapolis, among other events.
