Coming to NYC’s Film Forum today, Wednesday, September 17: 20,000 DAYS ON EARTH

Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s hybrid portrait of Nick Cave debuted at Sundance this year, where it picked up the World Cinema Documentary Directing Award. It went on to Berlin, Sydney, True/False, Seattle, San Francisco, and IFF Boston, among others.

Coming to VOD today, September 16: IVORY TOWER

Andrew Rossi’s exploration of the cost of higher education premiered at Sundance earlier this year. It went on to Sarasota, Miami, Seattle, Ashland, Full Frame, Cleveland, and Montclair, among others. It was released on iTunes last week and now comes to other digital platforms.

Coming to DVD today, Tuesday, September 9: WHO IS DAYANI CRISTAL?

Marc Silver’s intimate look at immigration debuted at Sundance last year, winning the World Cinema Documentary Cinematography Award. Its festival circuit also included Hot Docs, San Sebastian, San Diego Latino, Abu Dhabi, Zurich, Rome, Miami, and the New York Film Festival, among others.

Coming to DVD and VOD tomorrow, Tuesday, September 9: FED UP

Stephanie Soechtig’s provocative investigation into America’s obesity epidemic debuted at Sundance this January. Screenings followed at San Francisco, Hot Docs, Martha’s Vineyard, San Francisco, and Traverse City.

Coming to NYC’s JCC Manhattan for its CineMatters series tomorrow, Tuesday, September 9 and opening in theatres this Friday, September 12: THE GREEN PRINCE

Nadav Schirman’s stranger-than-fiction tale of unexpected Israeli/Hamas cooperation premiered at Sundance this year, where it won the World Cinema Documentary Audience Award. It went on to screen at Human Rights Watch, San Francisco Jewish, Dallas Jewish, Seattle, Sarasota, Moscow, DocAviv, and the upcoming Atlantic fest.

Coming to theatres tomorrow, Friday, September 5: NO NO: A DOCKUMENTARY

Jeffrey Radice’s look at the life of a legendary baseball pitcher debuted at Sundance this year. It went on to screen at SXSW, Montclair, Dallas, Sidewalk, San Francisco, Florida, and Boulder, among others.

Coming to theatres this Friday, September 5: LAST DAYS IN VIETNAM

Rory Kennedy’s moving revisitation of the US withdrawal from Saigon bowed at Sundance this January. It went on to screen at Nantucket, Sarasota, deadCENTER, Los Angeles, Martha’s Vineyard, and Ashland, among others.

Coming to DVD today, Tuesday, September 2: UNDER THE ELECTRIC SKY

Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz’s look at a massive electronic music festival had its world premiere at Sundance this year. The film has been released in theatres on demand around the country as well as on VOD.

Carl Deal and Tia Lessin’s exploration of corporate interests on democracy debuted at Sundance last year. Other festival engagements have included DOC NYC, Full Frame, Sarasota, Traverse City, Wisconsin, Big Sky, and Citizen Jane, among others.

Joe Brewster and Michèle Stephenson’s twelve-year chronicle of African American education had its premiere at Sundance last year, where it won a special jury award. Screenings followed at the New York Film Festival, Full Frame, Hot Springs, Montclair, Pan African, and DokuFest, among many more.
